“Life is short” is one of those typical life sayings I hear all the time. But what is the quintessence of it? How does it influence our daily lives, what does it mean for me?
Less is more
Personally, I try to live and act according to it every day. It’s the moment that counts, the little things, the fun in the things I do. Many will say, oh, it’s easy after a successful career, but that’s not the point. I have learned that less can be more, that material things are not the decisive thing.
I lived abroad for many years and was able to learn a lot about foreign cultures there, I was almost always a guest in a foreign country. Respect and personal adaptation to foreign cultures are an absolute must. If you succeed in this, many things are reduced and you focus much more on the moments of happiness that enrich your life every day.
A liberating blow
For example, I came back from India with only three suitcases, that was it. There are three suitcases in front of you, and that is your old life and your new life. I have to say it was like a liberating blow when I came back to Germany.
Creating something new
On top of that came the option to create something new myself, to do things I’d always wanted to do: to set up a restaurant in a completely new dimension, to develop game consoles or simply to try writing a script for a feature film. To do that, you need the desire to live, to create. So I founded P-ton, together with my son Jakob, which, by the way, is worth a story of its own, and then things took off. Today, after a good two and a half years, more than 120 people worldwide are supporting us and more are joining every day. Diversity in all dimensions comes together and generates an energy that is simply incredible.
Loving what you do
It’s the pure joy of life, work is no longer work, it has become a piece of my life. I meet countless people every day, real or virtual, because they, like me, enjoy life and treat each other with respect.
That’s how my life is today and I look forward to every new day filled with these small and big magical moments of happiness. I’m happy to be able to inspire you a little bit too. If so, the door is wide open for a journey together in the P-ton.
